On Wednesday 8thtMay, we visited Greenmount Campus.
Greenmount Campus is the centre of all things green – agricultural, horticultural and environmental.
The campus is set in 18 hectares of mature and beautiful landscaped gardens and grounds.
Our guide, Joanne took us on a walk around the gardens, where the children had a mini-beast hunt!
Afterwards, we were taken to a maze, where everyone had to find their way to the centre of it - unfortunately we didn’t get to see the sundial in action!
Greenmount have recently built a state-of-the art dairy unit for 200 cows with a 32 point parlour. The children were very excited to be given the opportunity to view the Dairy and hear all about the new technologies that Greenmount has to offer.
After lunch we went for a walk around the forest area, where we spotted fox dens and badger setts. We also had the opportunity to feed the ducks some seed.
Everyone had a brilliant day at Greenmount – even if the weather wasn’t on our side!
