A big thank you to Carnlough Community Association for organising an Educational Trip to Belfast City Hall.
Our P7 pupils, along with the P7 pupils from Carnlough Integrated School spent the day having a guided tour around City Hall Council Chambers; where they learned about the different roles that everyone plays.
Our guide Michael was very informative and even let us try on some of the cloaks that are worn. The red woollen cloaks trimmed with black velvet cost a whopping £1,000 each!
He also told us that the Mayors Chain weighs 1 stone in weight!
We had a fantastic day, and even had a chance to sit on the Mayors Chair in the Council Chambers.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
