Wednesday 16th October is RESTART A HEART DAY.
Across the UK, there are over 30,000 cardiac arrests outside of hospital every year, but the survival rate is less than 1 in 10.
Today our pupils learnt what to do if they found someone unconscious and not breathing. It all starts with calling 999.
Without CPR the chances of surviving cardiac arrest are zero.
Our children are learning life saving skills - that hopefully they will never have to use - but if the occasion should arise they will have the knowledge to know what to do.
When the stakes are this high, don't think twice, just try. #RestartAHeart
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
